Panic and depression

If you are diagnosed with PD and are also suffering with depression, this may have important implications for your symptoms and response to treatment.

You may have more severe symptoms, and this may cause you more difficulties in your work and family life.

During a spontaneous panic attack, the number of symptoms you experience may well be significantly greater if you also have depression.

It is vitally important, in these circumstances that you continue with any medication and psychotherapy as recommended by your doctor.  Many patients who have both PD and depression give up their treatments and this will have a detrimental effect on your treatment outcome.
