Problems with your sex life?
Psychological problems express themselves in many different ways.
These might include a loss of libido:
- Lower sex drive
- Performance anxiety
- Low self-worth
- Anger
- Hostility towards yourself or others
The following are comments from individuals who are unaware that
their loss of libido is a symptom of clinical depression:
Helen and Colin
Colin: "I have a strong sex drive but she isn't interested and comes
up with excuses to get out of it." Helen: "He doesn't care about me so
why should I have sex with him?"
Karen and Paul
Karen: "He comes too early, he never waits for me. I can't be
bothered to try explaining what I'd like. He only ever thinks about
himself."
Peter
"I don't feel a thing, I just can't get aroused. After a while I
might get close to a woman, but as soon as she begins to touch me I
panic and run. I don't even masturbate any more. I just have no desire
left."
Liz
"I'm frigid. I can't achieve orgasm through intercourse or
masturbation. I just don't look for sexual experiences any more."
Vera
"I'm far too fat and feel ugly and old. Nobody would want to have
anything to do with me."
Christina and Eric
Christina: "It's hard to play mother to a helpless baby in the
morning and lover to a demanding man in the evening."
