Quite a bit has happened since I last wrote here...my friend had her 19th birthday on the same day as Mid-Autumn festival...I celebrated my 19th birthday...my father celebrated his birthday four days later...and blah!
I didn't do much in particular on my birthday. I went to the clubhouse in the morning, spent half the day there painting coffee mugs that are going to be sold this Saturday at what they call the Carpark Capers...(I've no idea what that means...) Despite not intending on telling my birthday one guy asked how old I am 'approximately' then one of the staff members discovered that it was my birthday because he just happened to be reading the draft of the newsletter for the month. 'sall good I suppose. I got a free milo bar as a result. lol...Anyway, later that day I went home and we took some photos with the family, had KFC for dinner(of all things) and birthday cake for dessert.
The next day we all went to a buffet restaurant to have lunch before browsing a nearby shopping centre. I suppose I had a nice time.
On the public holiday I went out with my parents down south. We hung around at a beach eating cold rolls while breathing in the fresh seabreeze. It was pretty cool...in both ways. Then we went to walk along the jetty watching other people fish. Then we went walking around the sand dunes, I've no idea why we bothered. After that we went to a family friends' place where we talked for a bit before heading home.
Two days ago I went to my first appointment to see an acupuncturist, who just happens to be a family friend of ours as well. The purpose was to help with my mental illness. First she talked to me about my diet and emphasized that I shouldn't eat too many carbohydrates or foods with high glycemic index. She said that that way I would have more energy throughout the day. Then she got me to lay on the bed and she started sticking needles into me. She stuck them in my head, my forehead, tummy and lower legs. It hurt a bit when she pricked them in but once they were in I could hardly feel a thing. She then left the rooom to deal with another patient and left my lying there for about 45 minutes before she came and 'stimulated' the needles, which really hurt. Then she heated up this little object and put it near my skin until I could feel the heat, she did this to a number of places. Fortunately she didn't do it to my head. I didn't like the experience and I wish I didn't have to go again but she said I should have at least 8 treatments to complete a 'course' whatever that means. Oh, and she also stuck these little round things on my inner ear and told me I had to press them 3 times a day for 5 days. I've no idea why but yeah...hopefully once the 8 treatments are done I'll feel better.
