Stranger Danger

This is an entry about some people that annoy the shit outta me.

I think because I'm young and moderately attractive to some people I often get unwanted attention from guys when I'm out in public.

For example, as a teenager I once walked past this very old man who blew a kiss at me.

Another time when I was 19 I went to a Clubhouse for people with mental illness and a man who claimed to be 40 something but I suspect to be older, asked me to be his girlfriend. I politely refused.

Then recently, well, late last year this man came up to me and said hello, i didn't want to talk to him so I said hi back and walked away as fast as I could, he must've followed me because he then suddenly appeared in front of me and said I want to talk to you. I asked him why, and he said because I was a beautiful woman. Whatever, I told him I did not want to talk to him and walked away.

Then just last week I was at the bus stop and this young man in a car drove by and shouted give me some love. or something. Some people are just weird.

I guess my point in all this is, that being attractive is not as great as it may seem...lol. I'm only moderately attractive and I get all this unwanted attention, a model would probably get even more.

It does sound like an annoyance to be followed (especially by an older guy) and having remarks beings said to you.

I think a girl/lady more is likely to get attention by the way she looks, acts or dresses and the media doesn't help. I feel that females have a greater expectation to be a certain way and the way the society and the media portray females as somesort of object to be crave over.

hang in there

A-Leng

We all have people who annoy us and it is the way we deal with them that is important. You are doing the right thing by walking away. I'm with jupiter, some people bring it on themselves by their dress sense and others as gyps points out miss out all together. The media has a lot to answer for in regards to the way it portrays women. Far to negatively for my liking!!!
