Think Positive

A page in the diary "The Daydreaming Student of Life"

I was meant to write an entry as part of the recovery program describing my characteristics...I couldn't think of anything last time that I didn't mention in the qualities...and to be honest I don't know what the difference is between the two.

Anyway, today I shall write an account of a day that didn't go so well - today.

Basically what happened today was that I had to do a group presentation with a few others. Things seemed to be going ok as we were preparing for it for the past couple of weeks when suddenly today one of the group members said she couldn't make it to the tute to do the presentation. So here we were the remaining few of us stressing about trying to find ways to include her part into the presentation and a summary of hte presentation which we also had to do. Time seemed to go by soo quickly as we were doing last minute preparations. We only managed to run through the presentation once before we had to do it in front of the class.

I reckon though, that the good thing was that we managed to stay focussed despite being stress. Also, because one of our group members sort of informed us late that she wouldn't be able to do her part of the presentation we had a good reason to tell our tutor. And we ended up passing. Don't know what grade we have yet but knowing that we passed is good enough for me.

Well done A-Leng...maybe the person didn't attend cause of anxiety and we all know what that's like!

Aleng

That is a great positive. You all worked together in a short period of time and got through the presentation.
Well done. Don't be hard on the person who didn't show, anxiety probably got to them as I know it does for me when I have to do oral presentations.

Go Aleng!!!

Dear a-leng

Well done chicky.

I think today went bloody well!!

Your fellow student let you know at late notice that she couldn't participate in the group activity.

This created a PROBLEM for the group members.

PROBLEMS are Purposeful Roadblocks Offering Beneficial Lessons Enhancing Mental Strength

The rest of the group, all got in and focused and worked your way around and past this roadblock - and you learnt that you could still survive (pass), and get through and past this roadblock, and communicate with your tutor etc. So - you did what you needed to. Great!! What an achievement. Well done!

Next time you come across a similar Roadblock, you just need to remind yourself of the lessons you learnt from this one. You're well on your road to success!!!

I always find your diary entries inspirational.

Love Kimberly
