Finally got a response

I waited impatiently all yesterday for a response from the university to either call or email me about my appeal against preclusion. I didn't hear from them until this afternoon. The woman that called me said that the Division Appeals Committee are willing to let me transfer into Social Science and if I do that I'll be able to continue to study at the university.

Now I'm just wondering what I should do next....like whether I should defer uni for a year and complete the certificate IV in Community Development that I've been accepted into or whether I should just go straight to uni.

I suppose it depends on various factors. If I'm not allowed to defer I'll go to uni, if I have to start in the second semester I may consider doing the TAFE course etc.

Things seem like they'll work out for me as far as my studies go.

Thanks to everyone that's written comments in my diary, I really appreciate it.

I still think the option we discussed about deferring uni for the year and attending tafe for the year will be the best option for you. Show uni you are serious about your studies. Only issue is if you cannot defer uni and you then have to take the offer from the university. I am sure you will make the right choice that suits you.

Hi Aleng,

So good to hear that you can still go to uni. I have faith that you will make the right decision as to which option to take.

Hi a-leng,

I know this is a awkward decision to have to make but i know you will choose the right one for YOU.... If you can't defer uni then go with their offer and keep working hard at it...

Taking the Tafe option sounds the better one but hey in the long run you have to do what is best for YOU....

I have total faith that you will trust yourself and do this...

Your a fighter a-leng so keep at it.

support always

thanks for your posts to me. It is great to get support from the Dep community.
Studying does place a pressure on us that really needs our home life to be all supportive to the goal of passing the course requirements. Planning for three / four months ahead is hard when you arent on top of what sustains us.
You know what the things are that make you happy. Getting through the course has to be something that you really weant, and as you have gone through the appeal process I sense that you really want to continue the course.
As I posted to 'brutus48' , I have been through the study mill so please let me know if you want some encouragement. In the end, any qualification will be worthwhile!

G'nite!
Bob
