I got an university offer despite my low TER(Tertiary Entrance Rank) because the cut-off scores have reduced as a result of less applicants. W00T! Anyway, I got into the Bachelor of Management (Marketing) which was my third preference (my first and second were both related to teaching) but I hope this degree will lead on to an interesting career.
I've been very busy lately, especially last week:
Recently a friend of mine came back here from interstate so we went out to a beach with another friend of mine. It was nice though we didn't go swimming. We did however take off our shoes and walk in the water....we ended up getting all wet despite having rolled up our pants...
Anyway, I've been helping to paint a mural (I forgot if I mentioned this before) and it's nearly complete. It looks really...colourful. Very random but hey, it is only a mural after all.
On Wednesday I went to a digital film making project, which I've been attending each week. This occasion was very interesting. We interviewed an Aboriginal woman and two Somalians who live in the area (because that's what the documentary is going to be about) and they had a lot to say (especially seeing as we live in a somewhat dodgy area).
On Thursday there was an event called 'Street, meet, eat and greet'. It sounds kind of lame but the whole thing was set up by some workers at a health service in my area to get the neighbourhood together and such and such. In that aspect I don't think it was very successful however, there was lots of food and lots of people that came to eat it...lol. I did get to talk to some of the people who were a bit dodgy though...y'know...the type to swear in front of their kids and such....
Well...that's about all I have to say for today. Tomorrow I'll be going out with my friends again. It should be nice, despite the warm weather here.
