Finally my husband has told his GP about his dep. He is to see a mental health nurse next week and he started medication yesterday.

I also told him about this site if he has any questions.

Heres hoping it all helps.

I will try and be good to me when i can and we have told the boys dad is sick at the moment.

I will go back to work next week and see how it goes.

With the jocks, ill have to bear with it til I can get to see specialist with the younger boy. Meanwhile ill try and get him to eat better.

We can only try.

Thanks for everyones comments.

Feeling so relieved that hubby is getting help.

I am so glad your husband is getting some help.

I hope it will be a big step forward for your family.

I'm also really proud of you for reaching out for help

and advice yourself, I know how easy it can be to bury

your head in the sand as I do it myself.

Looking forward so some progress reports.

Take care,

Lorelai

Hi Smokinshar

So glad to hear your hubby is getting the help he needs. Just remember that the first month or so on medication, might be rough for him until he adjusts to it. He may actually get a little worse, but he will balance out eventually.

Regarding your little boys problems, you can buy Huggies pull ups nappy pants for them. This will at least cut down on the washing for you. Also lots of fibre, fruit and water (which i'm sure you already know.

Keep in touch and let us know how everything is going for you and your family.

Take care
Love Dolly x

Smokingshar

Glad to read your hubby spoke to the gp and has started his meds and knows about depnet. Take things slowly because it will take time for the meds to kick in and I hope they help your hubby.

Go Smokingshar!!!

Hey Shar,
Glad you're finally getting some help. This is a wonderful site for support and guidance for you and hubs, which you've obviously already found.

Good luck with hubs at the appt. hope he lets it all out, having you there if possible will be a post for him to lean on and help remember what he may otherwise forget to mention.

Glad to help, chat here or other soon

hey shar,

good hubs is on meds, being testy is normal.

if you can take notes on his behaviour, it will help gp's work out what meds he needs and how much.

be patient , things will work themselves out.

Bryzy
