Hmm so I have an english speech due Monday that I have NO IDEA how to do!! Then on Wednesday I have an Ancient History speech AND essay due!! and on top of that I have a maths test.

Then on friday, I have a hospitality exam. The week after that I have a CASE STUDY DUE!!! WHICH I NEED TIME TO DO THE WEEK BEFORE! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

My head has been thumping for the entire day. I've spent the day trying to explain to the teachers that I'm not coping, and that when they try and tell me things to make me understand, it just doesn't sink in. They keep trying to explain it to me, I dont have the heart or the energy to tell them that what they just said went in one ear and out the other and I'm no better off and that they should have saved their breath!

I'm not learning ANYTHING at school, but I have to be there or else i'll miss a whole bunch of stuff.

I know theres supposed to be a light at the end of the tunnel and all... but I don't see it... Its not coming any nearer, and this impossible goal of finishing this year is becoming harder and harder to attain.

I've tried the school counsellor... my psychologist CANT see me. I've talked to all my teachers, and seen the principal AND NONE OF THEM GET IT! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I know the feeling. Perhaps take a little bit of time off school - trust me, there's very little point in going when you're this stressed out. As you said, it's going in one ear and straight out the other anyway, so you'd be better off resting at home so that you're not getting more stressed out about not understanding. I'm not sure of the system outside Victoria, but one of my friends from skating did her VCE over 3 years cause she was trying to qualify for worlds (ie she did year 11 in a year then split year 12 over 2 years). I know it means you stay at school a year longer, but it gives you time to focus on one or two subjects this year and do your other 3 (I assume the subject load is the same) next year when you're hopefully feeling a bit better.

Hang in there. Keep screaming out for help at the top of your lungs. Your teachers/principal/school counsellor all have a duty of care for you and they will eventually listen. Get your friends/family to start screaming at them too - that's what finally got them to listen in my case.

I finished my HSC just last year so believe me, I know just how you feel.
I also know that at such a stressful time it's so easy to lose perspective. Your tests, assignments, exams, take on this huge importance and it feels like it's too much to cope with. Take a step back and try to see it more objectively. That always helped me... The HSC isn't the be all and end all, no matter what your teachers are telling you.
Take things a day at a time and I promise, when you graduate and look back, it will feel like it was no time at all. Even if it feels like forever now.
And remember that NOTHING but nothing is more important than your well-being. Nope, not even your exams. Life goes on, well after the HSC.
Hang in there!

Hey sweety,

Firstly, let me give you a big fat hug. (((((((((((hugs))))))))

Hun, whats more important, your life or hsc? Use your wise mind on this hun.

I know how you feel. I went through all of that stress as well. It was shit hard but I scrapped through. Were my results what I wanted it to be? Of course not, cause I spent a total of one and a half months in and out of hospital.

But you know what sweety, does my hsc results matter now? Not at all. True enough i didn't get into the degree I wanted, but life isn't perfect. Life is shit but its what we do with this 'shit". Hope you understand where i am coming from.

Okay, lets see worse case scenario. You take a couple months off school to rest and take care of you. Once you get back, hopefully you will feel refreshed and your concentration will be better. Will you be able to catch up what you missed, probably not. But is that a REALLY big deal? Hun, in life we go through so many difficulties. And if we let them control us, we are never going to move forwad.

Think of Albert Einstein, he suffered bipolar if I am not mistaken. And i am pretty sure he wasn't able to do his best - i am pretty sure he dropped out of school. Memory is a bit crappy this morning. And what happened later on in his life? He became so famous, most importantly, he stayed alive, he got through it and he made something out of himself.

Maybe now is not the time for you to succeed, but its okay. You can work towards it later.

I am not where I want to be in terms of studies. But I am working towards my goal. I have been let down twice, trying to get into the degree i want, but I am still trying. The more crap you go throug, the stronger and more determined you get.

Basically, what I am saying is, do what you NEED to do. Rest, sleep, eat, sleep. Get better and then make a goal, make a plan.

I want you to succeed and trust me sweety, you will. Maybe not now, but later. And it will come. Yes it will be a hard road, but you will get there. Even if it takes you 5 years to complete hsc. Its ok. Nobody in the future is ever going to talk about how long did it take you to complete hsc or what marks did you get. They will only ask your profession and they do not need to know if it takes you 10 years to complete it.

Focus on you. Put studies aside. Trust me on this.

Take care my love.

WD
