I have to go to play cricket today. Right now I am shivering with fear that what might happen when I go there and play with these people. But it is my assignment from my psychologist. I have thoughts to abondon going there. I am so fearful. I called my cousin to tell him to not to pick me up but he is not receiving the call. time is coming and I am making excuses to myself that I am injured and can't play and regular excercise is enough. I have to be determined and have to go because it is an assignment.

Sometimes you have to push yourself to get through that fear ,and once you have done it you will feel so much better l now it is so hard and easy to make up excuses not to go but once you get through that you feel so much better, within yourself, but dont ever feel pressured to do it ,as that only makes the panic worse. good luck rubee xx

Hi Omar!

One of the best things about Cricket (as opposed to football or many other sports) is that while you're part of a team, the nature of the game means that you don't have to be too close to other people!

Depending on what's causing your fear, think of it as though you're both an important individual cell, and part of an larger organism - that's what a team is.
Collectively the team will support and protect you, but individually you're able to muster up all the courage you can, and just get out there and be yourself!

I guess it might still seem frightening, but it's one small step that's no doubt important to your healing.

Play well, Omar. Play well.
