MY WORK CAN BANG IT FOR ALL I CARE!!!!

Finally have the internet back up and running on my laptop, so now I can access all my journals and that on here, without feeling uncomfortable...

Work called the other day wanting me to work over Easter after they had told me 2 days earlier that I could have Easter off, I didn't answer the phone though, it went to message bank, I didn't call them back either, so couldn't be bothered with their crap anyway and secondly you don't just leave a message on someones phone telling them when you want them in you get them to CALL YOU BACK, and ask them properly, a message isn't professional, what if they don't get your message or they have no credit and can't check the message? You make sure you get a hold of them properly, at least thats what I think...

Everyone at that place has pretty much turned nasty and vindictive and are starting on me because they know I wont bite back as it's not in my nature. So now everyone thinks they can push me around. Well the other day I finally snapped back and it was over something stupid and pathetic, but it drove me up the wall. I went down to reception to see what other rooms had checked and therefore could be cleaned, I had the housekeeping board and keys, I asked the others to stay where they were in case the floor they were expecting to go to wasn't ready yet, so I went down and found out, then went to press the lift button and found they were doing what they plased anyway, so I had to wait to go anywhere thankfully the floor they went to was ready so I went up to give the others the board and keys, then I said I was ducking next door to grab a drink to have the new guy tell me off for not doing it while I was down there... I HAD THE BOARD AND KEYS, WHICH THEY NEEDED, if I had've done iy while I was down there then he would've had a go he needed the board and keys to work. Not to mention my purse was on the 1st floor and they had the bloody lift. He then made a smart arsed remark to me about thats why I'm always in trouble... WTF??? I then turned and said well my money is on first and I had to wait for the lift. And you needed the board to work anyway... Then I got back in the lift and got my drink, it was a 40 degree day I had a right to make sure I had a drink with me, especially the job I do.

I stormed around for the rest of the day and everytime he spoke to me I either ignored him or answered with as little syllables as possible, who is he to tell me what to do, on a hot frigging day... He knew I was snakey too, not that I cared, I have had enough with that place thinking they can push me around, the cracks are staring to show, and I am growing a backbone there...

Also the next time they call me to come in after Easter they are going to get an unpleasant shock, I am going to tell them unless the shift is 4 hours or more I'm not coming in... I spent 40% of last weeks pay in gas getting to and from, and I didn't get paid that much either, because I only worked 2 hours, and when its a 3 hour round trip, its a waste of my bloody time. I spent more time driving there that I did working, and they don't care, they probably weren't even listening when I said its a 90 minute trip in. They never do, they just expect me to bow down to their every command, even if it is an inconvenience to me, they dont care. The thing is I dont care anymore. I WILL NOT GO IN FOR LESS THAN 4 HOURS WORTH OF PAY... Its that simple and if they dont like it well seriously the can go shove it, my time is more important than they seem to think...

I think it also helps the bf's mum and sis are both backing me up, urging me to tell them it's 4 hours or I don't go in. They feel the same as I do. It's definately a help... Organising getting centrelink sorted anyway, because I would get more a week form them than my work pays me... That goes to show how disrespected I am. I would get about $100 a week more on Centrelink than I do working. At least that way if work work decides that they don't want me anymore coz they can't push me aroun no more, well I'm not out of pocket...

Anyway I think I've ranted enough... sorry for all the babble... Just needed to get it out

Happy Easter 'wild rose'
It' OK to have a whinge on depnet, at least it lets the pent up feelings out.
I do not blame you for being unhappy with your work.
So pleased your internet is up and running again, I would be lost without mine.
Hope you have a relaxing easter.
Hugs Pat xx

Jess

This is not meant to upset you, but this could be why they have not called you in in two weeks. You need to be flexible and not the walkover you used to be. Starting to say no on your days off was smart but you need to be careful you don't burn your bridges because you don't return their calls/come back to work when they say they need you.

4 hour shifts is a good thing to ask for since you have moved - don't disagree with that.

Please reconsider how you deal with the phone and go in when they say to come in. You need the work/money and can't say no all the time. Keep going to interviews and when you have the right job resign.

Go Jess!!!
