Hi Nouse,

Again it seems like we're living the same life... I'm in a job share role as well and have been for 6 years now, and I'm also a "yes" girl. The amount of people I've had to train to fill the other 2 days has been amazing. I reckon it's about 6 in total in the last 2 years. Does nobody recognise a decent job anymore. And in between their leaving I have to pick up the slack and work the other 2 days while we go through the process of finding someone else. So I know how frustrating it must be for you. Try and think of the extra money you'll be getting for a little while, that never goes astray.

What is it you do exactly and how long have you been there? I'm an administrative assistant with an olive oil company.

Have you been looking around for other work if you don't like the job you've got? Register with seek.com and they'll send you appropriate jobs you can apply for.

Oh and p.s. - you never bore me with your thoughts!

There is nothing to say that you will be expected to pick up her workload from this diary or have you been told that already. Do your best and that is all you can do and hope they fill the position asap so someone will be in to help you.

You are not stupid... in fact you know you are a really intelligent, consciencious, hard working and amazing person... and saying no is not what you do... but maybe being assertive... say yes with conditions... i will work extra days until you get another person to work ... for at least 4 weeks... but no longer...

take some control of your situation...

you have been doing well working at all.. I am proud of you... given the AA thing too..

sorry nouse.. i get so tired lately... can't concentrate i wanted to give you a long rave ... telling you why you are wonderful... but this is it...

Hello,

This is something that you can't avoid, but I truely sympathise with you, ah it's worst when you have that feeling of not wanting to go to work but knowing you must.

I guess the best thing now is to stick with it, then after a few months if you feel the same you may want to consider changing. However this could be the opportunity to suprise yourself and try yourself to fit in, socialize, force yourslef to step out of your comfort.

Keep at it hun, you are doing well.

Hi Nouse,

Thank you so much for your comment to my diary entry. It's replies like that that keep me going. You can keep going too, 1 whole month is amazing work, I know how hard it is. I was just having a tough day today, but I'm through it now and feeling strong again.

And joy of joys, I've got a tupperware party to go to tomorrow night, so that will keep me busy LOL!! At least it's getting out of the house - but geez my tupperware cupboard is full, I don't have any more room for anything, you take your life in your hands when you open my tupperware cupboard!!

Anyway, really hope we can catch up on chat sometime soon, oh and i'm going to AA meeting at Mitchell Park in Church next to Mitchell Park high school on Saturday at 12.00 noon if you're interested. It's a good group, lots of women and I feel welcome there. Are you using anything like AA to help you through?
