Well i got a phone call today... i might have a part time job with the ATO depending on health assessment... not sure if it includes psychiatric as well as physical... there is a saga attached to this job... but I am not allowed to discuss it... now I am excited and very nervous... how will i cope both physically and mentally?

Can I go back to 5 days a week work? I am currently struggling to keep going 2 days a week... oh dear...

So we shall see after the appointment... what will happen if I am not physically or mentally able to do the work?

no compensation for the loss of a job...

take care

Hun make sure this is the thing you want and Dr T is happy with you going back to work full time espcially if you are not coping with 2 days.

I think you will be asked about psychiatric illnesses so don't be surprised if they do ask the questions.

Good luck with the assessment. Do your best and I hope you do get the job.

Go Cate!!!

G'day Cate!

I'm a bit unclear on how a part time job = five days, but perhaps they're not full days.

You're a bright little button - I see it so clearly in your posts, so please find some self-confidence knowing that someone out there sees it!! (uh, yes, that would be ME!) Then, take a little piece of that to work with you. Take it to the assessment.

Dig up a little determination, and commit to being your best in some small part of it...then do it, appreciate yourself for it, and then rinse and repeat!!

I don't know much about you, but you're articulate (at least in writing), you have a bit of a gift for encouraging others, and I reckon in the right workplace you'd be a real asset.

I must say though that the thought of the ATO scares all of the courage out of me...but that's because I haven't lodged a tax return for about 10 years!!

So...when it comes to the ATO, I'm glad its you and not me.

All the best with it!

Hi Cate

Sounds exciting - your part time job. I work for the government and I doubt they will ask you about your mental health. They mainly just check your blood pressure, your eyes (reading an eye chart) and that you don't have any back problems. I wouldn't offer them any unsolicited information - they only know what you tell them.

Best of luck - i hope you enjoy it.

Dolly x
