I am so sure I just listed my positive characteristics so I'm going to write about something I noticed today.

My daughter is 7 and hasn't ridden her bike in about 6 months, the front tyre was flat and she's grown so it's a bit small, but she was determined to ride it.
So off we went, she would try to start riding and almost fall off two seconds later, try to start and fall off, try to start and fall off, then she finally got going and rode for about a block then steered into a fence, she kept this pattern up until we got to the park then the bike hit her in the leg and she got realy frustrated and upset, needed a hug, then kept trying, all the way back from the park with just one more injust/crying/hugs period - all the way she kept trying.
And I thought - this is just like my life - I keep trying and falling off cause somethings wrong with my life, then i pull things together enough to cruise for a bit, then really crash and burn, really upset, then keep trying and falling off and cruising again.
But the difference - all the way along she was so positive, so happy, so self encouraging and thats what I've been missing - the fact that I matter no matter what is going on in my head I matter.
Anyway - hope this made sense.
Take Care All

Your daughter is doing exactly what 7 year olds would do. It is when they hit high school/teenage years that things change and depression/anxiety can hit. My question remains and no one has been able to adequately answer it for me is why so many teenagers suffer from mental illness - even young children suffer it and no one can answer me why it is on the increase except for peer pressure, certain circumstances.

Glad she perceived and got to ride her bike!!!

Go Psyche!!!

I loved your story, my life feels the same, fortunately the cruising lasts a little longer than the crash and burn part!
Enjoy the holidays,
Nancy
