Bad News Day - Not Coping Very Well

A page in the diary ""
Written by chookie67 26. Sep 2007 04:31 PM

I have been feeling unwell for around a month lately with headaches, numbness in my face, severe eye pain, feeling of wetness in my ears, not eating as feel like being sick and horrible taste in my mouth etc. I finally got up the courage to go to my GP and was sent to have a CT scan done which came back ok (brain was found).
My doctor is away on holidays so another doctor from the same practice rang to check on how I was feeling and he put me on a 10 day course of Cortisone to see if I had inflammation of the facial nerve. My course finished on Sunday with no change in my symptoms.
I went back to see him this morning, and after being with him for an hour he thinks I am in the early stages of Multiple Sclerosis. My symptoms keep changing side to side so he says that is a early sign.
I don't know how to deal with this at the moment. I have to see a Neurologist and then have a MRI Scan done. He says I will most likely end up in Brisbane to get tests done. I am pretty scared at the moment.
I was just starting to get myself out of my hole and now this comes along to send me into fear all over again.
Why when you think life is starting to get better, something comes along to stuff if up.

I can recommend a great neurologist - John O'Sullivan. He tried to help me with migraines but he knows what he is doing. Sorry to hear this news as I had no idea how you got MS. If you need somewhere to stay in Brisbane - there is a bed here for you in the brothel. I hope everything goes well and it is not MS as the gp thinks.

Go Chookie!!!

Hi Chookie,

oh no! I hope your Doctor is wrong...I will be praying for you and Im sending you lots of hugs and support.
Will try to get on msn, in between bubs, so we can chat.

Bells palsy is another facial nervous condition, maybe you can ask your Doctor about that. I think that is curable or at least manageable.

All the Best mate. Let us know how your MRI goes.
Take care and try not to worry, easier said than done I know. It maybe something simple and curable/manageable.

(((((hugs))))) love Lori xox

Studying, Kimberly, Tan, Surfer and Lori,
Thank u all for your wishes. I have to wait until Monday to see the Immunologist and then have the MRI.
My GP has ruled out a stroke and bells palsy as my symptoms have been going on for too long.
Thanks for the name of the Neurologist Studying, I have told my doctor his name.
I will let you all know how things go over the next week. I may not been on here over the next week very much, but as soon as I know anything, I will do a diary entry.
Thanks again for your love and support
Take care
Chookie
