Migraine, meds and sleep. Hubby's mum rang and wished me a happy birthday - a month early but at least she remembers which is better than Queen Bee!!!

Hubby has gone to see his parents and I have been sleeping off my migraine and watching tv. No doona day today which is amazing considering it is raining and cold here in Brisbane.

Psychiatrist has finally changed my meds and I will be taking new meds - panafen plus and a brufen instead of two panafen plus. Asked the chemist about the possible side effects from withdrawing from the codeine. She said as it was being done slowly there shouldn't be any side effects. Have to ask my psychiatrist how slowly he is going to be in withdrawing the codeine.

Take Care All!!!

PS Thanks for the warnings about my diaries that hubby could read. I would like to make them private - is there any way that can happen. I don't really want to delete them because I want to have my diary history.

Also I got a reply from depnet about my other letter about the topic that has been discussed over the last few days and they referred us to my original letter. Gyps if that isn't satisfactory to you, perhaps you can write a letter yourself because they believe they have answered the issue enough/fairly.

PS Have deleted the diary entry that I was reminded of.

Thanks for mentioning the actual date so I could find it. I knew it was there but didn't know when it was written.

Hi Mrs Studying,

Hope the new med's help with your migraines, is that what they're for, they sound kind of like headache type pills? I'm not really sure.

Psychiatrist will know how to wean you off the codeine effectively, but good to ask him how long it will take anyway. Hopefully the new pills will do the trick for you.

Take care,

Mrs Studying,

Take a deep breath and have some trust in your psychiastrist. He won't do anything that he feels that you are not capable of handling.

remember, anxiety is what we create for ourselves. You are concerned about things that may or may not even happen.

So sit back, relax, take a deep breath and see what unfolds.

Hmm, that sounds like good advice, lol. I must remember that. Easier said than done, I know for sure...but it is a good reminder for when we start becoming anxious.

When we become anxious we need to tell ourselves to stop...take a deep breath...and think about are we fearing the things that are actually happening, or the things that may or may not happen.

Take care

Nanna Val is going for a Nanna Nap now...So pleased to hear things are getting better for you. I take a lot of Panadeine for tummy cramps and gastric tummy upsets, so my body is also used to a lot of codeine.
I hope your new meds work & hope DepNet settles down very soon...it would be nice to go back to the nice peaceful DepNet that it used to be.
Love Nanna Val x0x

Hi Stud :)

It's great to hear you are pushing on despite feeling sick. I do not get migraines so can not understnad how painful they must be. Have you explored other ways to ease them? Accupunture, hot baths, meditation, no smoking...I'm no expert but being in pain must be horrible and I guess its no harm to exhaust every option of treatment.

I hope you realize you have many friends and support. The light is near.
