Migraine, meds and sleep - teach me to go to sleep early - migraine starts earlier!!!

Hubby didn't want me to come with him for his tests. Looks like he has Pagets disease and doesn't believe the bone scan answered the question about whether he has bone cancer or not. If someone who could tell me what paget's disease is I would be greatful.

I thank you all for your entries to my former diary. Maple, the solicitor was speccing the case from January 2007 so I have avoided paying a huge bill to her by signing the deed. I also would have had to find another solicitor because she would have to excuse herself because I don't trust her. This is not the case. It is just a matter of misunderstanding on my part and being on meds when I email her - yes Gyps I should have learnt my lesson for writing diaries when under medications.

I was supposed to have a medical assessment which was confirmed back in February by my solicitor but they lost me in their computer system - their excuse was that they had a computer glitch and it had been happening to a lot of people. Hubby wasn't happy with what happened - said I should have stood up for an appointment and I said, I couldn't get an appointment today as the doctor already had an appointment. The booking woman was going to speak to the psychiatrist and see when they can get me an appointment. I called my solicitor and sent an email to tell them what had happened - no medical assessment with a psychiatrist today for my super.

We got the mail and I signed the deed and sent it back with instructions on it. Will be a matter of paying the bills - solicitor $10K - 2/3 of her charge, barrister - shouldn't be too much as he really hasn't done that much - maybe $5K, centrelink - no idea how much that will be as I don't know how they calculate it - will speak to centrelink about it tomorrow, my psychiatrist for two medical reports and then the rest is for me. Hopefully there will be a decent amount for me after all the payments have been made. Might be able to pay Queen Bee.

Hubby called Queen Bee - she sent him a belated birthday present - a wallet and he is happy with it because it has a zipper to close it securely and hopefully is a good thing when he is working.

Have to speak to my QSuper case manager about what happened today, tomorrow. It wasn't my fault as it was confirmed by my solicitor. It was their fault - I lost my appointment either through a computer glitch or a human error.

Take Care All!!!

Hi Mrs Studying 1,

Just did a quick search on the internet....

Paget’s (pronounced paj-ets) disease affects bones.
Throughout a person’s life bone is constantly breaking down and growing back. With Paget’s disease the normal process of bone growth is changed. The bone breaks down more quickly, and when it grows again it is softer than normal bone.
Soft bones can bend or break more easily. The area affected by Paget’s disease can become shorter because the bone bends.
With Paget’s disease the bone can also grow larger than before.
Paget’s disease can affect any bone, but usually affects the skull, the hip and pelvis bones and bones in the legs and back.

Paget’s disease causes a malfunction in the normal process of bone remodelling. Normally, bone is continually breaking down and rebuilding. This usually slow process of bone destruction and growth is somehow altered in Paget's disease.

When an area of bone is destroyed in a person with Paget’s disease, the bone that replaces it is soft and porous. Soft bone can be weak and easily bend, leading to shortening of the affected part of the body. The bone replacement also takes place very quickly and excess bone may be formed. This can cause the bone to get larger, be painful and break easily.

The bone affected by Paget’s disease also tends to have more blood vessels than normal. This causes an increase in the blood supply to the area, and as a result the area may feel warmer than usual.

The disease can affect any bone but more commonly affects the spine, pelvis, skull, thighbone (femur – pronounced fee-mer) and shinbone (tibia – pronounced ti-bee-ah).

Paget’s disease can lead to other medical conditions including osteoarthritis, kidney stones and heart disease.

Paget’s disease is also called osteitis (pronounced ah-stee-eye-tis) deformans. It is named after Sir James Paget, an English doctor who first described the disease in 1876.

Bl00dy computer glitches, not a good enough answer, hope you get your psych assessment soon so you can get super payout.

All the best to you and your hubby,

Karen xxx
