Don't stay down

“Supposing you have tried and failed again and again. You may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing that we call "Failure" is not the falling down, but the staying down.”
-Mary Pickford-

Hi all,

What to say? Had a great Chrissy, even though it was pretty tiring dashing between rellies all day! Hope everyone else took at least a small moment to enjoy the simple things that Christmas presents to us. The joy of knowing you are with people who care for you, the opportunity to reflect and regroup... I am sorry for any of you who missed this opportunity and only hope that you take it next year. Choices...

So this quote sums up dep for me. Sums up the way we feel and the choice we make to lay still and let ourselves sink. Once we hit the bottom, that is when many of us decide - no, this is not where I want to be -this is when many of us choose to fight.

Love and loght to you all

MissJ

Hey Jo,
Thanks for you comment. Ill try and shift the focus!

Im glad you had a good Christmas - it is a very tiring day!

I believe in your choices quote. When we hit rock bottom, then we have the power to choose to stay there and wollow, or choose to help ourselves get better.
In saying that, we must live with the choices we make. Sometimes, they might be bad choices, but we have to learn from those bad choices and try and choose a better option in the future. If we make a good choice, then we will ultimately be happier and be able to help ourselves.

Im a big believer in - we must live with the choies we make, and lately i have kept saying that to myself in terms of depression and life in general.

Lots of hugs,
Kato xoxo

Hey Jo,

Loved the quote. It's sort of similar to something in the book I just finished reading - It doesn't matter if we fail, as long as we don't fail to learn the lesson from it, so that we can do better next time. :)

I'm glad you had a good Chrissy, even if you were tired out. I went round to a friend's place to have dinner with her family. It was very nice. :)

I hope the New Year is a good one for you. Keep that positive light shining through, you're doing great Jo. :)

Luv, ((hugz)) & smiles

Hi Jo
Thanks for the quote.
Can always do with the right words to pick us up at certain times and I love to view things from different perspectives. Sometimes that just means reframing the sentence or question.
Glad your Xmas was a happy time and wish you all the best for 2006.
Managed to catch a nasty virus for chrissy day and sent everyone else off with all the food while I went to bed and slept. I must say, I made the right choice though because I slept all night from 4 pm onwards.
Still recovering, but not so bad now.
Your quote is very true for me just now as I am having to decide about fresh starts.I don't see a negative though, just having to adjust my attitude one way or the other.I could really do with a good dose of intuition right now, to tell me which way to go. The truth is, I know which way I want to go but then I have much to lose as well.Very scary but also challenging me to be strong and trying to take one day at a time for the moment. Living in the now.
Thanks for listening, got carried away.I guess your post seemed as though you were talking directly to me!!
Had a lot of relevance.

Healing light and love
Sue:)
