good news one day bad news the next

hey all,

Well at the moment I have mixed emotions, trying to feel happy about one thing and totally sad about the other. Well I thought I'd tell you about both.
The good news first- Yesterday morning I found out I was accepted into a position at a hospital I applied for, for next year- so excited, it means moving, but maybe I can make a fresh start, away from the place where the assaults happened. Yep couldn't wipe the smile off my face yesterday, and my shingles is healing, so will be right to start back on placement on monday.

Well here goes the bad news- the smile was wiped off my face late last night when I got a phone call from one of my friends I went to school with- she told me that one of our good friends was violently stabbed by her boyfriend and is in a critical condition in hospital. I have been praying that she pulls through. But ya can't help to think that you thought this could never happen to someone you know... My prayers are with her and her family right now.

sounds like a confussing place, but congrats on the job no matter what happened or happens u should celebrate that because its a huge achivement!!!
trying to think of a positive way to look at ur friend getting stabbed, please dont take that the wrong way. but sometimes theres nearly always one hidden. maybe the violence could of been happening awhile with her boyfriend, and now if its heals up ok she will get the courage to leave. not sure but i know with some of my friends that have been beaten they dont leave until an extreme thing like this happens. i hope your friend is ok and that she pulls through. but stay positive because im sure when she does wake up she'll want to have a good catch up with all her mates :D
and even with this happening you have every right to be happy about your new job so make sure you give yourself that time!!!
thanks for the comment on my diary aswell, its a good idea and one that i hadnt thought about. and it wasnt affensive in any way either :)

First of all, congratulations on getting the position at the hospital, I hope things work out over there.

I'm very sad to hear that your friend is in such bad shape at the moment, some people can be so cruel...I do hope she pulls through too.

That is AWESOME news about your placement. Congratulations, you must be stoked! :) :) :)

I'm so sorry to hear of your friend's stabbing though. That's horrible for her & for you and her other friends. I will pray for her to get better too. Then she can celebrate your new job with you, hey! :)

Hey Em,
Im so happy for you about the hospital position, Congrats- its great news.
On the other hand i am truely sorry about your friend. What a horrible reason to be in hospital. I hope she recovers well and is ok.
