sometimes it just can't happen

I read with interest the helpful hints and diary tips your site offers but sometimes it just can't happen. Being a shift worker on a continually rotating roster makes things like keeping a regular bedtime impossible.

There is also difficulty in keeping a regular medication time, however, for me a regular medication time is immediately after breakfast. Avoiding caffeine and nicotine also doesn't happen, yes I am a smoker and have been for over 30 years and I find I can sleep within minutes of drinking a cup of coffee.

This is not a criticism of the helpful hints but is a comment on real life situations. I am certain I am not the only shift worker in the community who finds some things just can't happen.
