Hi. Been on cipramil for around 5 years. Before taking cipramil, I was motivated, a hard working professional. I was prescribed cipramil by a GP for mild anxiety. I was otherwise a very 'normal' person. Since taking it, I have thoughts of killing myself, I cant get out of bed or function. I have seen doctors about this a few times. Latest advice was about a year ago that I double my dosage. I did that and its even worse. Since then I have tried to cut-down but I get even worse.
I called lifeline and they just want me to go to Counselling but that is not going to get rid of my addiction to cipramil. I am not sure what to do next. Is there anyone here with similar problem or got off cipramil that can give me some ideas please please PLEASE !!!

I've been on Zoloft for about a year now and it has done me wonders. I have never been on Cipramil but I think if it's doing these things 2 you then it's not doing what it should be! I suggest you try doctor after doctor until you find one who helps. It may be as simple as going on a different try of anti depressant. There is no reason why you should have to feel this way. I have been off my anti depressants a few times because I find that I can't cry, and sometimes I really need to! Within a few days I'm locked in my room and I can't stand to have people near me. So DO NOT just go off them... that is the worst thing you could do...
I hope everything works out for you!!

I have also been on zoloft, it's been about three years now, and although they work seemingly well i have put on an awful lot of weight which i'm not use to, i know every drug has side affects as this is my second type, but my doctor has recommended cipramil for this. Yet after reading some of your comments i'm a bit worried about changing...

Everyone, has different affects with medication.
As they say what is good for one is not always good for another.
I think you have to try until you find what right is for you.
I tried 5 different types before I found the one right for me.
Hang in and keep on keeping on.
