I"ve just started on medication after suffering from depression for about 8 years. Im finding it really scary, its actually making me more anxious than i was before. I´´ve done alot of research but still find i dont know enough about it. I´´m going to continue taking it for 2 weeks, if im still this anxious about it after then, i think i´´ll have to try something else. Can anyone else tell me about their experiences with Cipramil?

Hi
I started taking Cipramil about 3 months ago and while I was depressed before I took it, I became very anxious after I started taking it. I told my doctor about this and she upped my medication from 20mg a day to 40mg and it made me a lot less anxious. So you should tell your doctor about your symptons, they will try and make things better for you.
I took my med today, but for the past 4 days I haven´´t been taking it and I feel really sick and depressed. It´´s really cold so I haven´´t cut myself, but I burnt myself with a lighter, only a little bit though. Just to calm myself down. But I still feel depressed, and I know it´´s my fault and I´´m stupid. I know that and it makes it worse.

Thankyou for the reply. Its been 2 weeks now and the symptoms seem to have died down. I´´m still getting very anxious for half an hour or so after i take it, but i think thats all in my head. I have actually felt a little better the last few days. I´´m sorry to hear you are going through a rough patch, but never ever think you´´re stupid, this is where half the problem starts! It would be worth going to your doctor about being off the meds. It might help you.

This is my first post here.
I've taken a multitude of different meds for my situation.
I hate that I'm not in control of my own head.
I'm worried for Narissa. Can anyone tell me if she's O.K.
Narissa...if you're there, it's not your fault and you're not stupid. It's not under your control and you're doing all you can. You're a champ for persisting.
THe quiet weep I have while writing says I'm not out of the woods yet but having come close to doing silly things a few times reminds me there is light at the end of the tunnel, really important to remember when it's hard to remember anything good.
Edronax is my current drug of choice.
I got onto this site while checking out info on it's side effects.
I forgot to take it this morning, maybe that means i'll sleep well for once but I know it'll be harder tomorrow.
If there's anything I can say it's learn to trust the people around you.I wouldn't be here without them.
I;m happy to be there for anyone who finds other people in the same situation easier to trust.
Please don't go...everyone is needed here.
Damien.

Treatment and insomnia

I was on Efexor for several years but it made my insomnia worse and getting medication for that was problematic.
I've recently switched to Luvox (generic brand Movox) and Zyprexa. Sleeping is less of a problem but I'm finding I am depressed. In addition, the medication increases the need for sleep. I thought fixing the insomnia would fix the depression but that has not happened.

I was on Cipramil for the past 9 months. It was great for my anxiety but has done nothing for my depression. It makes me real tired even though I take it at night.
3 weeks ago I started taking Avanza and its not agreeing with me at all. I can't remember being this irritable!
It also makes me real tired and I have to sleep in the middle of the day.Being exhausted every day makes me even more depressed.
Has anyone tried any meds that has increased their energy and concentration so that I can discuss this with my GP?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
About 7 years ago I was on Serzone which helped me so much but they aren't making it anymore.
I wish everyone well.

I had some sort of bipolar dep my dr thought so I started on Effexor with some mood stablisers. The effexor didn't help so I am now on 70mg of Parnate and have to be careful with what I eat because of the bad reactions. I'm still on lithium, lamactil and until 2 months ago zyprexa. The side effects seem to come and go espacially if I am tired and run down, everything tends to suffer. When they are working my mood has been pretty good however it all comes with a fuzzy internal haze and little emotion.
When the drugs haven't worked maintenance ECT has been tried with limited success. Sometimes i think about going cold turkey to see if I could cut it on my own but then reality kicks in and it scares me to do that at present.
Stay well
